Madison Parry

ASSISTANT COACH

Madison Parry joined the North Allegheny Rowing Association coaching staff in the spring of 2021 as the Dev Team Coach. She is currently an Assistant Coach as well as the Coxswain Coach. Some of her favorite memories with the team include coaching the Girls JV 8+ and the Girls JV 4+ at Midwest Scholastic Championships ‘22 and the occasions where the Dev Team 8+ would sing
Backstreet Boys while waiting in line for the dock. Getting to work with the other coaches to create a positive community where athletes develop valuable skills and have fun brings Madison so much joy and is one of her favorite parts of coaching.

She has always found the sport incredibly rewarding and strives to instill the same values needed for the sport in the athletes she coaches. Madison believes the teamwork, adaptability, confidence, and strong work ethic that athletes develop through rowing help them to grow as individuals and serve them both on and off the water. She is especially fulfilled through her work with coxswains, the team members who are responsible for steering the boat and leading their crew through practice and competition. Madison leads coxswain clinics throughout the winter season, regularly provides feedback on race and practice recordings, and loves to challenge herself to find new and creative ways to empower coxswains to enhance their skills.

Madison began her rowing career at Oakland Catholic High School as a freshman in 2012 and has competed as a coxswain since 2014. She served as a team captain her senior year of high school and continued to compete throughout college as well as with Three Rivers Rowing Association’s masters’ team during the summers since graduating high school. Madison is a US Rowing Level 2
certified coach. She has a Bachelor of Science in Physics and works as a Research Assistant for the University of Pittsburgh.
