Donald Webber-Plank joined the North Allegheny Rowing Association coaching staff in the Fall of 2024 as an Assistant Coach. He is very excited to join NARA's dynamic Coaching Staff as well as assisting in the growth and development of our student athletes - in a safe and learning environment - with focus on teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Coach Webber-Plank began his rowing career in college (California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt), winning medals at the PAC-10 Championships and taking part in various U.S. Lightweight Development Camps & the USRowing Sculling Training Center (Augusta, GA). As an oarsman, he has won numerous medals, including awards at the U.S. Olympic Festival, USRowing Rowing Championships, Royal Canadian Henley Regatta, Head of the Charles and USRowing Masters National Championships.
Coach Webber-Plank began coaching in 1993. His experience has been primarily with collegiate programs (University of New Hampshire, Robert Morris University and Carnegie Mellon University) specialized rowing/sculling camps (Florida Rowing Center, Craftsbury Sculling School & Rocky Mountain Rowing Center) and competitive Masters programs (Three Rivers Rowing Association Men's and Women's competitive masters teams). He is an accomplished technician in both sculling & sweep and is well versed in sports physiology and psychology (with a BA in the latter). Coach Webber-Plank has developed & guided crews to considerable competitive program and podium success at both the collegiate and national Masters Club levels. He is a US Rowing Level-3 certified coach.
Donald and his wife Katie are proud parents of their three sons (& Maggie dog). In his "spare" time he's active with Boy Scouts of America and enjoys beekeeping.
