Bella Abbott

ASSISTANT COACH

Bella Abbott joined the North Allegheny Rowing Association coaching staff in the Fall of 2024 as an Assistant Coach. She is thrilled to join NARA’s staff as a first-time coach and is excited to help student-athletes learn to love and appreciate the sport of rowing.

In 2016, Bella began her rowing career as a freshman at Glastonbury High School in Connecticut, where she competed at races including The Head of The Charles and the New England Interscholastic Rowing Championships. In 2020, Bella was recruited to Duquesne University, where she competed as a Division 1 athlete until her graduation in 2024. She competed in the Second Varsity 8 as a freshman and in the First Varsity 8 her sophomore, junior, and senior years at The Atlantic 10 Championships. During her senior year, she was one of four captains, including Assistant Coach Britta Wheeler.

Bella competed all eight years as a starboard and was almost always in the bow seat. Her favorite memory was rowing with her twin sister at Glastonbury High School and getting recruited together for Duquesne’s team as a port and starboard duo. Fun fact: Bella and Britta were pair partners for their first and last Atlantic 10 championships!

Bella has a Bachelor of Arts in Multiplatform Journalism and Communications and works as a Grant Writer for Avanti Consulting Group. In her free time, she loves to run and read.
