On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the NA rowing community gathered at Moraine State Park for the 2nd Annual Michael McNaughton Ban Alumni Race. The event brought together both current and past rowers for a day filled with competitive racing and heartfelt memories.

The races featured mixed lineups competing in 2x, 4x, 8+, and 4+ shells. Seventeen alumni eagerly jumped back into boats to compete, while many more gathered onshore with families and current rowers to cheer on the action. The event was not just about the races but also a time for reminiscing and reconnecting with old friends.

The day’s racing consisted of two heats, with rowers progressing to either the A or B final. Following the races, participants, along with their families and supporters, enjoyed a picnic together, fostering a true sense of community.

The highlight of the day was the presentation of the Michael McNaughton Ban Alumni Trophy to the winning crew, who rowed in the Michael McNaughton Ban ’04 4x shell. The victorious lineup included Chris Ban ‘01,Ben LeDonne ‘99, Alex Repinski ‘25, and Layton Wright ‘25.
